Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute offers highly esteemed academic programmes. The Institute has a doctoral programme in social sciences, a Master of Business Administration in Rural Development (MBA-RD), and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS). In all programmes, the degree is awarded by the University of Allahabad.
Doctoral (Ph.D.) Programme in Social Sciences
The Institute is an approved center for doctoral research in social sciences. Doctoral researchers work closely with Institute faculty on critical societal issues spanning development policy, environment, history, political science, and human development.
Eligibility
Candidates must have a Master's degree in a relevant social science discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and must qualify through the CRET (Combined Research Entrance Test) conducted by the University of Allahabad, or be exempted as per UGC norms (e.g. NET/JRF qualified).
Admission Process
- Appear for the CRET examination.
- Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview and brief research proposal presentation.
- Final selection is based on academic record, written test (if applicable), and interview performance.
